Innovative
Fence Mower Promises Clean Fence Lines
without Expensive Chemicals
HEMPSTEAD,
TEXAS June 29, 2005 -- It’s a classic
problem and a common sight, especially
for owners of large horse and cattle ranches
in the west and mid-west: Miles of sprawling
fence line, completely overgrown with
bushes, vines, saplings, and tall grass.
Some are simply an eyesore. Others are
so dense with foliage that if the fence
were broken, no one would even know.
Until
now, a bulldozer was the only solution
to acres of fence rows that are entangled
with vines and thick weeds, making maintenance
nearly impossible. Other alternatives
were expensive chemicals or high labor
costs to physically cut away the brush.
As a result, farm and ranch owners are
often forced to turn their attention back
to their herds, leaving acres of expensive
fence line to deteriorate.
Today,
thanks to engineering technology from
Wright Manufacturing, the promise of a
remedy to this age-old dilemma is on the
horizon. Smarter and more agile than the
typical bush hog, the Fence Mower offers
a streamlined duo of power and maneuverability
built specifically for use on heavily
overgrown fence lines. Easily attached
to a PTO, the Fence Mower offers a generous
23 inch cutting width but rides just 5
3/4 inches off the ground, enabling painless
maneuvering underneath the lowest railing
of the fence.
As
the tractor is driven parallel to the
fence, the Fence Mower cuts away brush,
saplings, tall grass and vines, and even
levels out mounds of surface dirt build-up.
When the Fence Mower encounters a post,
its revolutionary adjustable spring action
kicks in, automatically navigating around
the post and then returning to underneath
the fence. The spring action feature eliminates
the process of working gears to shift
the mower, allowing the driver to focus
ahead rather than watching the mower.
The feature can be adjusted to operate
around specific fence lengths and heights.
The
Fence Mower promises more than just highly
visible and well maintained fence lines.
Enabling easy access needed in upkeep
of post, wire, and containment of livestock
or fields, the Mower could jump-start
an advanced element of agility in upcoming
farm and ranch machinery.
